Glastonbury 2024: Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Sza headlining

  • Shania Twain joins Glastonbury 2024
  • Female-heavy lineup announced
  • Coldplay sets headlining record

Shania Twain has also been confirmed as a headlining performer at Glastonbury 2024, alongside Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA. Numerous artists, including Little Simz, Idles, Avril Lavigne, Jessie Ware, Disclosure, Janelle Monae, Cyndi Lauper, Burna Boy, and Camila Cabello, are also present.

It has been announced that Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA will headline Glastonbury 2024.

Shania Twain, a sensation in country pop, will perform the “legends slot” on the renowned Pyramid Stage on Sunday afternoon.

The event’s organizers revealed the lineup for this summer’s Glastonbury today, following months of speculation.

Little Simz, Avril Lavigne, Jessie Ware, Janelle Monae, Cyndi Lauper, PJ Harvey, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, SZA, and Twain are among the female-heavy lineup. This marks the inaugural occasion where two headlining acts will be female.

It will be the 28-year-old Lipa’s inaugural appearance on the Pyramid Stage. Her performance follows appearances at the Brit Awards and Grammys earlier this year, and the announcement of the album’s details the day prior marked the occasion.

The star’s Instagram post was the ” FRIDAY NIGHT PYRAMID STAGE HEADLINE!!!”. “My entire existence, I have envisioned this moment in my dreams. An entity that existed solely in the realms of my most elevated aspirations and fantasies!!! Make it a night to remember by gathering you all at my finest location on the planet. I cannot wait to see you all there!”

“One more gem adorns my crown”

It will also be the debut of SZA, which organizers describe as “quite possibly the hottest hip-hop/R&B act on the planet.” Furthermore, Coldplay will become the first act to headline the program five times with the 2024 slot, having done so in 2002, 2005, 2011, and 2016.

They will surpass The Cure, with whom they previously shared the record.

Canadian superstar Twain has amassed over 100 million records to date and is best known for hits such as “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!,” “You’re Still The One,” and “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and is a five-time Grammy winner, announced in an Instagram video that she was preparing her wellies, raincoat, and cowboy hat.

“An additional crown jewel!” she penned. “This is an absolute honor, and I am filled with elation!” Considering what to wear at this moment… “Let’s set history with this performance of the epitome of dreams this summer.”

Following criticism that the event’s organizers booked all-male headliners (Arctic Monkeys, Guns ‘N’ Roses, and Sir Elton John, who was performing his final UK concert), the current lineup features an impressive array of female artists.

What additional acts have been declared?

Idles, LCD Soundsystem, Michael Kiwanuka, Disclosure, The National, Burna Boy, Bloc Party, Jungle, and Keane are the additional artists confirmed for this year.

The program also includes Nia Archives, The Streets, Olivia Dean, Paloma Faith, Anne-Marie, The Last Dinner Party, Ghetts, Orbital, Two Door Cinema Club, Sampha, Bombay Bicycle Club, Nothing But Thieves, Sugababes, Fontaines DC, Arlo Parks, and Brits rising star winners.

Among the acts confirmed for the Pyramid Stage, Little Simz, who shared the Glastonbury poster, remarked, “This summer, I will be in attendance at the only festival in the world.” At the estate, on the Pyramid. Extremely large Glasto, you know, what awe! “I look forward to seeing you there.”

“Valuable Farm. We are making our way back!” An Avril Lavigne fan post with a “We’re playing Glastonbury” banner read, “England see you in June!” Avril Lavigne, who will perform on the Other Stage, also shared a similar message.

“Super excited to announce we will be playing Glastonbury this summer,” indicated Jungle. “Can’t wait to see you all there.”

Declan McKenna, D-Block Europe, Headie One, Jamie XX, Gossip, Sleaford Mods, London Grammar, and Yard Act will be performing.

Organiser Emily Eavis announced the news: “even more are planned for the coming weeks.”

“Take a step towards financial freedom – claim your free Webull shares now!”

And given the festival’s reputation for executing unexpected performances, there is little doubt that a few hidden acts will be unveiled during the festival.

When this year’s Glastonbury tickets went on sale in November, they were purchased in less than an hour. It is anticipated that any canceled or returned tickets will be resold in April.

The occasion will attract an estimated 200,000 attendees and over 3,000 performing artists from June 26th to the 30th.
