The Israeli military launches deadly West Bank raids

  • Violence escalates West Bank
  • Israeli raids kill four
  • Minors among deceased

Palestinian officials reported on Wednesday that Israeli raids in numerous locations in the occupied West Bank resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals, including two minors.

Tuesday evening, Israeli forces opened fire on Rami al-Halhuli, 13, a resident of the Shu’fat refugee camp situated in occupied East Jerusalem. The Israeli Border Police accused him of firing pyrotechnics at them.

Itamar Ben-Gvir, the far-right National Security Minister of Israel, defended Israeli soldiers amidst widespread condemnation of the slaughter.

“I applaud the combatant who eliminated the terrorist,” Ben-Gvir wrote on X.

According to witnesses, the deceased Palestinian adolescent fired the pyrotechnics into the atmosphere rather than at the Israeli forces.

“Witness state tenants corroborated two videos observed by us.” One depicts the youngster launching the pyrotechnics into the atmosphere, away from the Israeli soldiers. “The other image shows him shot and lying on the ground, with his mother visibly distressed,” Khan explained.

“The mosque there has announced that tomorrow will be a day of mourning and a strike, during which all commercial establishments will be closed to observe the mourners’ loss.”

Additionally, reports surfaced regarding overnight Israeli raids in the village of Burin, located south of Nablus, where Israeli forces attacked a vehicle, inflicting injuries on a 35-year-old man and his three-month-old infant, and in the town of Anabta, located east of Tulkarem, where shots were fired.

Five males were allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails when the Israeli police opened fire near the town of al-Jib, northwest of Jerusalem, according to their statement.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Abdullah Mamoun Hassan Assaf, 16, and Zaid Ward Shukri Khalifa, 23, were both fatalities, as reported by the Wafa news agency. Treatment of the three additional wounded men is taking place at the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.

“Border Guard personnel observed five terrorists who had lit Molotov cocktails to hurl them at motorists, thereby posing a life-threatening threat.” “They were subjected to gunfire before being apprehended and referred to medical facilities,” the Israeli police wrote on its Arabic account on X.

Wafa reported that Israeli forces also invaded the premises of the Jenin Government Hospital, where they fatally shot one Palestinian and injured five others. According to the agency, the fatality, Rabie al-Noursi, was in his twenties.

According to information obtained by Wafa, Israeli forces infiltrated the hospital’s yard and opened fire on a civilian gathering in front of the emergency department.

Multiple investigations throughout the city of Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp culminated in the murder. Wafa stated that during the early hours of Wednesday, the assault was supported by drones and an undercover special unit. Dozens of Israeli military vehicles and bulldozers were involved.

The occupied West Bank has witnessed an escalation in violence ever since the October 7 attack by Hamas, which instigated the conflict in Gaza. There have been at least 427 Palestinian casualties, the majority of whom were slain in combat with Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

During the Muslim sacred month of Ramadan, which commenced on Sunday, Israeli-Palestinian tensions frequently escalate regarding access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.
