Red River Mayor Linda Calhoun told Questa Del Rio News that an unspecified number of persons had been arrested.

“Neither law enforcement nor emergency personnel were injured. No locals were injured… It was a gang-related incident,” she said, refraining to identify the suspected gangs involved.

“The shooters have all been apprehended,” she added.

According to Taos News, a law enforcement officer described the incident as “a rolling shootout — between Banditos (Motorcycle Club) and someone else.” A witness told the local ABC affiliate KOAT that chaos broke out in the massive throng.

Eddie Cook stated, “People were running by where we were standing yelling, ‘There’s gunfire below!'” As everyone fled the scene, I heard gunfire.

Taos News reported that the mayor imposed a 10 pm–4 am curfew and banned alcohol sales after the incident.
