Harry and Meghan’s first public appearance since King’s coronation as Duchess gets award

The Duchess of Sussex was presented with the Woman of Vision award at a gala in New York on Tuesday night, as Prince Harry’s court case against the Mirror Group Newspapers continued in London.

The Duchess of Sussex received a Woman of Vision award during her and her husband’s first public appearance since the coronation of the King.

Meghan urged women to strive for equality as she accepted the award at the annual gala of the Ms. Foundation for Women.

“It’s never too late to start,” she declared at the New York event. “You can be your own life’s visionary… “There is still a great deal of work to be done.”

The award was presented by the oldest women’s foundation in the United States in recognition of her “global advocacy to empower and advocate for women and girls.”

Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, also attended.

Meghan told the crowd that her family always had Gloria Steinem’s feminist magazine Ms. Magazine.

She received the accolade from Steinem, a well-known journalist and feminist activist.

Meghan stated, “I am a woman who is continually motivated and inspired by this organization.”

It enabled me to recognize that part of my greater value and purpose in life was to advocate for those who felt unheard, to oppose injustice, and not be afraid to express what is true, just, and right.

Meghan and Prince Harry’s first public appearance since the King’s coronation was ignored in her address.

Harry flew to London for the ceremony but returned to Los Angeles hours later for his son Archie’s fourth birthday.

Meghan wore a gold jacquard dress to the occasion, which she entered through a Hertz rental car lot’s back entrance.

The hue of the dress and the car rental company’s logo caused #hertzdress to trend on Twitter.

According to WhatMeghanWore.net, she also donned Princess Diana’s diamond tennis bracelet and her signature Cartier “love” bracelet.

LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter, also received a Woman of Vision award at the gala.

The event coincides with multiple High Court trials involving Harry in the United Kingdom.

He intends to file a second legal challenge against the Home Office regarding his security arrangements in the United Kingdom.

He is also pursuing civil litigation against the publisher of the Daily Mirror newspaper.
