Two alligators killed an elderly woman who fell into a pond in Florida, according to the authorities.
The tragic attack occurred a month after a similar occurrence in which a man died while searching for frisbees in an area where people are told to be wary of the aggressive reptiles.
On Friday night, she was observed slipping into the water near a golf course in Englewood, where she battled to keep afloat.
Two alligators were spotted seizing her while she was in the water.
She was declared deceased at the scene.
Two alligators have been taken from the location, but it is not yet known if they were the culprits. The woman’s cause of death has not yet been determined.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reports that when temperatures rise, alligators become more active.
Last month, a man died in a suspected alligator attack while searching for frisbees in a lake in the state.
The 47-year-old was searching for hostile reptiles in the lake at Taylor Park Disc Golf Course in Largo, where users are told to be wary of aggressive reptiles.
