Woman arrested for murder of 88-year-old man in Banbury assisted living community.

Monday evening, the man’s demise was reported at a Banbury residence, according to Thames Valley Police.

A lady has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 88-year-old man in an Oxfordshire assisted care facility, according to police.

Monday at 7:26 p.m., the elderly man was reported dead at his residence in School Lane, Banbury, according to Thames Valley Police.

The next day, a 53-year-old lady was taken into custody.

“In response to our preliminary inquiries, a 53-year-old Northamptonshire lady was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder. She is currently in police custody, according to a spokesperson for the force.

“We are not searching for anyone else about this inquiry, and our preliminary inquiries indicate that there is no threat to the broader community.”

In this difficult moment, the victim’s relatives have been informed and are receiving help from professionally trained officers.

In the following days, the crime scene will remain intact for forensic investigations, they added.
