According to a company, the construction of 46 eco-homes for homeless veterans and low-income families will be the first 3D-printed project in the United Kingdom.

According to Building for Humanity, its £6 million Charter Street project in Accrington will be the first to be constructed with 3D concrete printing technology.

The company stated that employing the technology will reduce costs and construction timeframes.

Its founder, Scott Moon, stated that the mission was to “ensure that everyone has access to quality housing.”

“This development is ultimately about so much more than houses.

It is about giving people the opportunity to flourish.”

In addition to the 3D printing, other building components, such as doors, windows, floors, and roofs, will be manufactured before being transported to the construction site.

The company has been testing the 3D concrete printing technology at Accrington and Rossendale College, which will soon begin providing courses in the field.
