Man charged with murdering Oswestry car-hit Rebecca Steer.

Rebecca Steer died early on Sunday morning after being struck by a car that had jumped a curb outside a fast food restaurant in Oswestry, Shropshire.

A man has been charged with the murder of a young woman who died after being struck by a car in front of a fast food restaurant in Shropshire.

At 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, Rebecca Steer was hurt when she was struck by a car that had jumped a curb in front of the Grill Out restaurant on Willow Street in Oswestry.

The 22-year-old was transported to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital but died upon arrival.

Stephen McHugh, 27, of Artillery Road, Oswestry, has been charged with murder, causing grievous bodily harm, and driving offenses, according to the West Mercia Police.

Wednesday evening, he is scheduled to appear before the Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court.

A 28-year-old male from Oswestry who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail, according to the police.

In a statement released on Sunday, Ms. Steer’s family noted, “We are all utterly crushed by the loss of our beautiful daughter Rebecca. Her constant smile and laughter made everyone adore her.

“She will be missed by her numerous friends and family. She was the best possible daughter, sister, grandchild, and friend.
