Lloyd Webber sought priest for London home poltergeist

  • Lloyd Webber’s haunted residence
  • Called priest to expel
  • Poltergeist organized theatrical scripts

Andrew Lloyd Webber stated that peculiar occurrences at a Belgravia property he owned ceased once a clergyman conducted a “blessing.”

Andrew Lloyd Webber recalled once summoning a clergyman to his London residence in an attempt to expel a poltergeist.

The esteemed composer, whose Broadway musicals include The Phantom Of The Opera, asserted that theatrical scripts would be concealed in an “obscure room” by the spirit.

He stated that the eerie occurrence ceased following a priest’s inspection of the nineteenth-century estate he owned in Belgravia.

Lord Lloyd Webber was questioned by The Telegraph regarding the possibility that any of his theatres were bewitched.

Although the 75-year-old claimed to have never seen an apparition, he had observed some peculiar occurrences at his residence.

“I did own a residence in Eaton Square that was haunted by a poltergeist,” he stated.

“It would perform tasks such as organising theatrical scripts into a tidy stack within an obscure room.”

It ultimately departed after we were forced to have a cleric come and bless it.

A poltergeist is a supernatural force or entity that is characterised by the ability to cause motion, generate sounds, bite, and pinch.

The renowned score for The Phantom Of The Opera, which debuted on the West End in 1986, was composed by Lord Lloyd Webber.

The source novel by Gaston Leroux and the production both refer to a disfigured musical virtuoso who haunts the Paris Opera House as the phantom.

Additionally, acclaimed musicals for which he has composed are Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Cats, and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Reportedly, actor Sir Patrick Stewart also asserted that he observed a figure on stage while performing alongside Sir Ian McKellen in their 2009 production of Waiting For Godot at the Haymarket Theatre in London.

“(The spectre) was dressed in a belted Norfolk jacket,” he stated.

It appears that he was wearing a shirt, albeit an antiquated check shirt complemented by a tie.
