Hundreds of mourners lined the streets to pay their condolences to a murdered nine-year-old child.

Lilia Valutyte was attacked on July 28 while she and her younger sister were playing in Fountain Lane, Boston.

In the Lincolnshire town, mourners gathered near St Botolph’s Church to see her casket arrive in a white horse-drawn carriage.

Then, her mother Lina Savicke, and stepfather Aurelijus Savickas followed her casket inside the church.

Before Lilia’s private burial, her family invited the public to a service of contemplation and prayer at the church known locally as Boston Stump.

At approximately 11:30 BST, the funeral procession passed through the town so that people may pay their respects before the event.

Before arriving at the 14th-century church, the procession traversed Town Bridge, Market Place, and Church Street.

The pallbearers carrying the little white casket wore bright pink ties and the coffin was covered in multicolored butterflies.

The nine-year-old was attacked while playing with a hula hoop with her sibling. According to surrounding residents, a toy stroller was also abandoned.
