Yesterday, they co-hosted a summit on the outskirts of the European Political Community Summit in Granada.
The meeting included leaders like Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Mark Rutte of the Netherlands.
The collective expressed a mutual dedication to assisting with the complexities of irregular migration. They pledged to implement eight measures to curb unlawful migration, including combating organised crime, enhancing information sharing, and updating the legal framework against people smugglers.
Recently, thousands arrived on the island of Lampedusa from Italy. This year has seen over 130,000 arrivals, compared to 71,000 last year.
Ms. Meloni praised European progress on migration issues, emphasizing the need for cooperation.
