Defence secretary orders review of MoD diversity policy

  • Defence secretary orders review
  • Army diversity sparks controversy
  • Security clearance under scrutiny

Regarding guidance that allegedly “challenges SC [security clearance] requirements” in an effort to increase diversity and inclusion in the British Army, Grant Shapps was “prepared to go to battle.”

According to reports, the Defence Secretary is “enraged” over the Army’s alleged intention to ease security clearance requirements for foreign recruits in an effort to promote diversity and inclusion.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces are turning abroad to increase ethnic minority representation because they have consistently failed to meet recruitment targets.

The newspaper purportedly obtained a document entitled The British Army’s Race Action Plan, which delineates a sequence of “actions” intended to enhance representation and identifies security checks as the principal obstacle preventing non-UK nationals from being granted Army commissions.

As reported, the guidance states that it will “challenge SC [security clearance] requirements” in an effort to increase the number of women in officer and intelligence corps positions, which have unrestricted access to classified information.

Shapps Battles Diversity Policy Issues

The discoveries reportedly infuriated Grant Shapps, who was “prepared to engage in combat.”

The Defence Secretary informed the newspaper, “I am directing a review of the MoD’s (Ministry of Defence) policy on diversity and inclusion.”

While advocating for the enlistment of individuals from diverse backgrounds in our armed forces, certain policies seem to prioritise political objectives over the tangible betterment of the lives of our devoted soldiers and military personnel.

Under no circumstances will security clearance requirements be relaxed during my tenure.

Religious inclusion in remembrance services should not cause offence to any individual. One does not need to identify as a Christian in order to value and honour the traditions and history of the United Kingdom.

According to a source from the Ministry of Defence who spoke to the newspaper, personnel concerns in the armed forces must be addressed, but some of these policies are motivated by an awakened agenda and extreme critical race theories.

Leaking into the civil service are these leftist ideas, which are, at best, a diversion and, at worst, a contamination of the larger discourse.

“Lunacy in advocating for woke ideas”

Twelve former senior military officers criticised in an open letter to the Defence Secretary the lackadaisical vetting policy, labelling it “dangerous insanity.”

They wrote that in the midst of advocating woke concepts such as ‘gender-neutral’ pronouns and permitting male soldiers to enhance their feminine appearance through the use of makeup or flowing locks during parades, a policy that obfuscates security screening to increase the representation of ethnic minorities stands out as particularly wicked.

“Unlock your financial potential with free Webull shares in the UK.”

With Islamism and other forms of extremism being so prevalent, this is perilously close to insanity.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence stated, “Protecting the national security of the United Kingdom and ensuring the operational effectiveness of our armed forces are our top priorities.”

Case-by-case evaluations are conducted to ensure that all personnel possess the proper security clearance, as we place security above all else.
