Kevin Spacey says he will ‘deliberately’ show up in the UK to shield himself against sex attack charges

Entertainer Kevin Spacey has answered the declaration that he is to be accused of rape in the UK, saying in an explanation that he will “deliberately show up in the UK when can be set up and safeguard myself against these charges, which I am certain will defend myself”.

Kevin Spacey has said he will “deliberately” show up in the UK to safeguard himself against charges of rape.

The entertainer, 62, is to be accused of four counts of rape against three men, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) reported for this present month.

He faces one more charge of making an individual take part in penetrative sexual action without assent.

The supposed occurrences occurred in London between March 2005 and August 2008 and in Gloucestershire in April 2013.

In cases like this, when the individual concerned doesn’t live in the UK, they can decide to get back to come up against indictments – and in the event that this doesn’t occur, examiners could look to begin removal procedures.

Spacey has now answered the charges, saying he is “certain” he can effectively defend himself.

“I particularly value the Crown Prosecution Service’s assertion where they painstakingly reminded the media and the public that I am qualified for a fair preliminary, and guiltless unless someone can prove the contrary to be true,” he told Good Morning America through a representative.

While I am disheartened with their choice to push ahead, I will deliberately show up in the UK when can be sorted out and guard myself against these charges, which I am sure will defend myself.

One of the world’s most popular entertainers, Spacey won Oscars for his jobs in The Usual Suspects and American Beauty, and a Golden Globe for his exhibition in political thrill ride series House Of Cards – the last time of which was recorded without him.

Reporting the UK charges, Rosemary Ainslie, top of the CPS Special Crime Division, said they were brought following a survey of proof accumulated by a Metropolitan Police examination.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all worried that criminal procedures against Mr Spacey are dynamic and that he has the privilege to a fair preliminary,” she said.
