  2. Early Detection and Treatment
  3. Past Health Concerns and Radio Career

The radio host informed his audience on his morning program that his cancer was diagnosed early and is treatable.

Chris Evans disclosed that he was diagnosed with skin cancer.

He announced the news on his Virgin Radio program, stating that it was discovered in its early stages and is treatable.

He stated, “We must discuss the current status of this issue.

“It is a malignant melanoma. Malignant melanoma is redundant because if it is a melanoma, it is already malignant.

However, because it was detected so early, it should be entirely treatable.

He added that he will receive treatment on September 14 for the condition.

Evans, an ardent runner, said he was told he will be unable to exercise for a month after his treatment, and he joked that he will run nonstop until his appointment.

After becoming concerned about skin cancer in 2019, he went to the doctor because of the elevated UV levels during the summer heat.

However, Evans was advised he had “nothing to worry about” and that he should undergo annual screenings.

The broadcaster also discussed a similar concern in 2015, when he was evaluated for prostate cancer after exhibiting symptoms.

Evans joined Virgin Radio in 2018, after leaving the coveted BBC Radio 2 breakfast program and taking with him the majority of his production staff.
