Spain’s hottest April day is 38.7C.

As the nation continued to experience record-breaking heat, a horse died and another collapsed while hauling passenger carriages through Seville.

Spain may have experienced its warmest April day ever.

Thursday at Cordoba Airport a preliminary temperature of 38.7C (101.66F) was recorded, according to the Met Office.

In addition to a horse dying and another collapsing while hauling passenger carriages through Seville. The record was broken as the country continued to experience extreme heat.

According to local police, the owner of the two-horse carriage is being investigated for potential animal cruelty.

In the Andalusia regional government, approximately 80,000 people in the province of Cordoba must rely on truck deliveries for drinking water because drought has depleted the nearby reservoir and another dam’s water has been declared unfit for human consumption.
