German Mercedes-Benz workplace shooting: Two died.

According to police, two individuals were killed in a shooting at a Mercedes-Benz factory in southwestern Germany.

A 53-year-old guy entered a Sindelfingen plant’s production centre and shot two 44-year-old men.

One of the victims died at the scene, while the other subsequently passed away in the hospital. No one else was injured.

According to police, security personnel detained the suspect and turned him over to officers, who apprehended him without resistance.

The incident occurred around 07:45 local time (05:45 GMT), according to police in Ludwigsburg.

This morning’s tragic news from Sindelfingen has left us profoundly shocked and saddened. Mercedes-Benz said in a statement, “Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all colleagues on the scene.”

Sindelfingen’s 35,000 workers make Mercedes-Benz’s S-Class premium car.

The corporation said the shooters worked for an outside service provider.

The Stuttgart prosecutor’s office said the culprit was alone.

According to police, there was no hazard to the public.

Germany has some of the strictest gun laws in Europe, and authorities intend to make them even more stringent.

In March, a shooting at a Hamburg Jehovah’s Witness meeting hall claimed the lives of seven people, including an unborn infant.

A suspected conspiracy to overthrow the government alarmed authorities and led to mass arrests in December.

Current laws stipulate that anyone under the age of 25 must pass a psychological evaluation before obtaining a firearm license.

According to the National Firearms Registry, Germany had approximately one million private gun proprietors in 2021. Hunters own most of the 5,7 million authorised guns and components.
