Helicopter crash near Kyiv kills 18 Ukrainian ministers.

The cause of the crash that killed Minister Denys Monastyrskyi and First Deputy Minister Yevhen Yenin, as well as three children in a nearby daycare, is now unknown.

The Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs was among the 18 people killed after a helicopter crashed near a nursery in a Kyiv suburb, according to authorities.

Images from the site depict enormous flames and a smoke plume rising into the sky in Brovary. Which is located northeast of the capital city.

Minister Denys Monastyrskyi and First Deputy Minister Yevhen Yenin, together with three children, were among those murdered in the tragedy.

The regional governor of Kyiv, Oleksiy Kuleba, stated that 29 individuals, including 15 children, were injured in the collision.

According to Ukrainian authorities, footage from the incident showed flames engulfing a large portion of the district where the aircraft crashed.

Mr. Kuleba added: “Children and staff of the institution were in the kindergarten at the time of the incident.

Everyone has been evacuated at this time.

At the site, paramedics, police, and firefighters are at work.

Mr. Monastyrskyi, who was in command of the Ukrainian police and other emergency services, is the highest-ranking Ukrainian official to have passed away since the beginning of the war with Russia about eleven months ago.

Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyi, his first deputy Yevhen Yenin. And the Ministry’s state secretary Yurii Lubkovych all passed away today in the Kyiv area, according to Anton Gerashchenko, the minister’s counsellor.

“My coworkers are my pals. What an awful loss. Our condolences go out to their families.”

Mr. Monastyrskyi is the highest-ranking Ukrainian official murdered since the beginning of the war with Russia in February of last year.

There has been no instant information regarding the crash’s cause.

Before attending a World Economic Forum session in Davos, Switzerland, First Lady Olena Zelenska was observed drying her eyes with a tissue.

She stated, “Today is another terrible day with more losses.”

Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom James Cleverly tweeted: “Denys was a true British ally. We are prepared to assist Ukraine in every way possible.”

Ylva Johansson, the EU’s commissioner for home affairs, referred to Mr. Monastyrsky as a “hero.”

“I am disturbed by the news of the deaths of Denys Monastyrsky, Yevhen Yenin, and Yurii Lubkovich. My deepest condolences go out to the families of all victims of this tragedy. Denys is a great Ukrainian hero, having led with courage and fortitude over the past year “she stated via Twitter.

“He was my buddy. Working with him over the past year was a privilege. This loss will be deeply felt by the EUHomeAffairs community and the Interior Affairs Ministries in all 27 capitals. In Denys’ memory, we shall continue our efforts to aid Ukrainians and the Ukrainian nation. Slava Ukraini”
