Tory MP Andrew Rosindell’s rape investigation is dropped

After a “thorough investigation,” the Metropolitan Police stated that there was insufficient evidence to file charges against Mr. Rosindell. “Indecent assault, sexual assault, rape, abuse of position of trust, and misconduct in public office” were the charges against which he was arrested.

An investigation into rape and sexual assault involving Conservative MP Andrew Rosindell has been discontinued by the police.

Mr. Rosindell, the Member of Parliament for Romford, has remained non-voting since May 2022, the alleged date of the allegations, according to him.

The allegations, according to the Metropolitan Police, included sexual assault, indecent assault, rape, abuse of a position of trust. They also included misconduct in public office.

Nonetheless, a “thorough investigation” has concluded, and officers have determined that there was insufficient evidence to support a prosecution.

A force spokesperson stated, “The Metropolitan Police received a report in January 2020 regarding alleged sexual offences committed in London between 2002 and 2009.

Suspicious of indecent assault, sexual assault, rape, abuse of position of trust, and misconduct in public office, a man in his fifties was apprehended in May 2022.

A comprehensive inquiry has been initiated by law enforcement personnel. In their judgement, the evidence failed to meet the standard established by the Crown Prosecutors.

He has been informed that no further action will be taken against him.

Regarding an allegation levelled against Andrew Rosindell in May 2022 by an individual, the Metropolitan Police have concluded after a comprehensive investigation that there is no basis for further action, according to a statement from Mr. Rosindell’s office.

Andrew has been exonerated in its entirety.
