Police were observed escorting Hunter Schafer away from the demonstration while she wore a T-shirt that read “Ceasefire Now.”

Hunter Schafer, star of Euphoria, was among the dozens of individuals detained in New York City during a pro-Palestinian demonstration.

Organisers confirmed on Wednesday that the actor, best known for her role as Jules Vaughn in the hit HBO series, joined over a hundred protesters in the lobby of NBCUniversal headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Monday to demand a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

They claimed that dozens of demonstrators, including the 25-year-old, were detained while US President Joe Biden filmed his Late Night With Seth Meyers appearance.

As police led Schafer out of the building, she was observed donning a black T-shirt bearing the inscription “Ceasefire Now.”

Footage captured additional demonstrators donning T-shirts bearing comparable inscriptions and chanting “Let Gaza Live” as the motorcade carrying President Biden approached the vicinity.

Schafer, a face mask-wearing demonstrator similar to the majority, was observed seated on the ground at one juncture while others hoisted a banner that bore the inscription “Jews to Biden: Cease Arming Genocide.”

Protest organisers Jewish Voice for Peace NYC confirmed Schafer’s attendance at the demonstration; she and others are scheduled to appear in court next month.

Hunter and fifty others were detained during the demonstration, according to a statement released by the group to NBC News.

Her dedication to Palestinian independence and a future of universal justice is laudable.

Thirty individuals were reportedly arrested and issued summonses for trespassing and disorderly conduct, according to the police.

Mr. Biden expressed optimism on Monday that an armistice could be established between Israel and Hamas by the conclusion of the weekend.

Efforts are underway to negotiate a ceasefire lasting several weeks, which would facilitate the militant group’s release of captives held in Gaza in exchange for the liberation of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners by Israel.

A Hamas spokesperson stated that the president’s optimism was “wishful thinking.”

In opposition to the president’s remark, Hamas would not negotiate an agreement in the absence of an absolute cessation of hostilities, as stated by Basem Naim.

He stated that disparities continue to exist between our demands and protests and the proposals put forth by the opposing parties.
