  • Operations against Hamas explained

It appears that groups of men are being detained by Israeli soldiers in the midst of a field. The authenticity of the video has not been denied by the IDF.

It appears from footage captured in Gaza City that Israeli soldiers are apprehending a group of males who are only clothed.

The video depicts a group of men, including some males who appear to be minors, positioned in the centre of a dilapidated stadium under the apparent direction of armed soldiers.

The parties, dressed solely in boxer shorts, approach the centre of the field and form short lines of four to five individuals.

Some individuals elevate or place their palms above their heads.

It is unable to confirm when it was filmed or what transpired with the detainees at the Yarmouk Stadium in Gaza City.

Latest from Hamas: Strikes “kill 241 individuals in twenty-four hours.”

The authenticity of the video has not been denied by the Israel Defence Forces.

The IDF has stated that it is conducting operations to “dismantle Hamas’s military capabilities” and is detaining and interrogating terrorist suspects as part of these efforts.

The IDF stated that individuals who are acquitted of involvement in terrorist activities are released.

“The treatment of the detained individuals is consistent with international law.”

Terror suspects are frequently required to surrender their garments for the purpose of conducting a search and verifying the absence of concealed explosive vests or other armament.

“Clothes are withheld from detainees in the interim period of time on the grounds that their return could potentially conceal hostile instruments (e.g., knives).”

Clothing is returned to detainees whenever it is feasible to do so.

The IDF further stated that its mission is to “rescue the hostages brutally abducted by the terrorist organisation Hamas,” in reference to the attack on October 7.

There are 129 detainees believed to be remaining in Gaza.

Prior video-related controversies at IDF

This appears to be the second occasion that footage of Israeli soldiers apprehending Palestinians has been leaked.

A video from earlier this month showed guys in underwear lounging in a devastated northern Gaza street.

A portion of those being detained in a group reported being beaten and deprived of food and water.

Diaa al Kahlout, a journalist affiliated with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, a London-based Qatari-owned news publication, was among those detained. The publication is also referred to as The New Arab.

Hamas leader Osama Hamdan, according to Al Araby, stated that the detainees were unarmed civilians unrelated to military operations.

Two additional recordings surfaced in the days that followed, purporting to show Israeli troops destroying property in Gaza.

In response to those two recordings, the IDF stated that it has “taken action.” The IDF will continue to root out soldier wrongdoing that contradicts its morality and ideals.
