Four children, one 11-month-old, found alive in jungle weeks after plane crash.

Four indigenous children have been discovered unharmed in Colombia, more than two weeks after their plane crashed in a dense jungle.

An infant of 11 months was among those rescued, along with children aged 4, 9, and 13.

The Cessna 206 carrying seven passengers called a mayday due to engine failure early on May 1.

President Gustavo Petro called the military’s “arduous searching” “good news for the nation.”

The impact caused the deaths of three adults, including the pilot, and their corpses were discovered inside the aircraft.

Preliminary information from the Colombian civil aviation authority, which coordinated the rescue efforts, indicates that the children evacuated the aircraft and fled into the rainforest in search of assistance.

Sniffer dogs had found discarded fruit and jungle tents for the children.

Army and air force aircraft and helicopters from Colombia participated in the rescue operations.
