India increases security for the G20 summit conducted in Kashmir.

The BJP government has increased security in Indian-held Jammu and Kashmir. In response to an increase in assaults ahead of a G20 summit in the disputed territory.

Srinagar is scheduled to host a tourism working group meeting of G20 members on May 22-24, as part of a sequence of meetings preceding the September G20 summit in New Delhi.

Since 1989, Srinagar has been the epicenter of an insurrection by Kashmiri rebels against Indian occupation. Although violence has decreased in recent years, tens of thousands of individuals have been slain.

Indian officials worry that Kashmiri extremists may attack the G20 conference to advance their cause. An Indian army officer who requested anonymity stated, “It’s concerning that the attacks are scheduled to occur just before the G20 meeting.”

Kashmiris may kidnap children at a Jammu military school, according to military and police intelligence.

They reported that in response, all such institutions had been closed and classes moved online until after the G20 meeting.

Security agencies in Srinagar are taking no chances, according to personnel.

Chief of police in the Kashmir Valley, Vijay Kumar, stated that personnel had been deployed in the city and members of a counterterrorism force would be stationed in various locations.
