According to unsubstantiated reports, as many as six youngsters may have fallen in, but police have cautioned that the search is “no longer a search and rescue operation.”

The four children were all in cardiac arrest when they were extracted by rescue workers.

They were transported to the hospital, but according to a police report, three of them “could not be resuscitated.”

According to the fire department, reports from the scene and social media footage indicate that they were playing on the ice when they fell through.

This morning, police officers were chest-deep in the lake, but they have not yet confirmed that anyone else is missing.

When they arrived on Sunday, police, and members of the public were already attempting to reach the children, according to the West Midlands Fire Service.

Four children were rescued from the water by emergency personnel, including firefighters and ambulance personnel doing CPR.

A witness told that he saw firefighters breaking up the ice and several distressed individuals, including three who were requiring medical care.

The children, whose names have not yet been disclosed, all arrived at the hospital in critical condition.

Overnight, teams on boats continued combing the lake with torches.

One cop who participated in the initial search was hospitalized with minor hypothermia.

On Monday, the local representative Saqib Bhatti visited the area and thanked emergency services for their “heroic” efforts.

“The (search) operation continued throughout the night in these really difficult conditions,” he said, adding, “the entire community will feel the agony of this.”

Police have requested that individuals refrain from speculating or sharing any video of the incident.

Richard Stanton, the local commander for the West Midlands Fire Service, cautioned the general public from approaching open water.

“We are aware that the weather forecast for the next three days calls for very cold temperatures,” he stated.

Please, adults and children alike, keep away from open water, and under no circumstances should you venture onto the ice, regardless of how thick or safe it may appear.
