Louise Kam: Two guys jailed for murder and fraud conspiracy

Mohamed El Abboud, 28, and Kusai Al-Jundi, 25, were described by prosecutors as having befriended the businesswoman before her murder, which was carried out to “benefit from her death.”

Two men were each sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of a 71-year-old woman. As part of a scheme to steal her life savings and acquire possession of her homes.

Mohamed El Abboud, 28, and Kusai Al-Jundi, 25, sought and befriended the trusting mother of two, Louise Kam, who had previously owned a catering business with her ex-husband before entering the rental property market.

The two were found guilty at the Old Bailey on January 19. After officers deciphered their falsehoods and uncovered evidence linking them to her death.

Ms. Kam had homes in Barnet and Willesden, which chef Al-Jundi and delivery driver El-Abboud intended to acquire.

A family member last saw Potters Bar’s Ms. Kam at the Spires Shopping Centre in Barnet on July 26, 2021.

On that day, she was strangled with a hairdryer wire and dumped in a wheelie bin after being enticed to her three-bedroom home in Barnet, north London.

The next day, she was reported missing to the police, and an inquiry was initiated to locate her.

The police recovered her black BMW on July 28 in Edgware. On 1 August 2021, her body was discovered in a wheelie bin on Wood End Road in Harrow.

The next day, according to investigators, Al-Jundi sent Ms. Kam’s family and friends messages claiming she was alive and on vacation.

El-Abboud sold Ms. Kam’s BMW and used the funds to purchase new clothing on the same day.

He also uploaded a TikTok video of himself dancing and gyrating to music in her Barnet driveway.

The judge described Al-Jundi as a Walter Mitty-like character who fraudulently pretended to be a “person of means” with the backing of a multimillionaire girlfriend to defraud Ms. Kam of her property.

The judge stated that after deciding to murder her to obtain her riches, he promised El-Abboud a portion of those assets “as a reward for murdering her.”

Judge Mark Lucraft KC stated in sentencing both to live in prison with a minimum period of 35 years. “El-Abboud, it could be argued that Al-Jundi played the leading role in Louise’s protracted scam. But I will not differentiate between the two of you in terms of your punishment.

“The evidence demonstrates conclusively that you did what you did willingly and out of greed, along with Al-Jundi.”

The prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service, Catherine Gould, stated: “This horrifying crime is a tale of tremendous greed. Al-Jundi and El-Abboud violently and selfishly took the life of Louise Kam for their purposes.

These defendants devised a scheme to murder Louise and profit from her demise.
