Police identify Bodmin stabbing victim Michael Allen.

Michael Allen, 35, from Liskeard, died early Sunday morning after police responded to reports of a violent altercation. Seven additional victims were injured.

His family described him as a “much-loved son, brother, grandson, and uncle”

Michael Allen, 35, from Liskeard, died after police were dispatched to Victoria Square on Castle Canyke Road at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday in response to a report of a violent altercation.

The police were informed that a suspect had a knife and that multiple persons had suffered stab wounds.

On Sunday, a 24-year-old man from Bodmin was taken into custody on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and causing grievous bodily injury on purpose.

Magistrates have granted police additional time to detain the suspect, effective immediately.

Seven additional men and women were injured and transported to the hospital.

Two individuals remain hospitalized while recovering from surgery following the attack, according to the police.

Since then, Mr. Allen’s family has released a photo and a tribute.

“Mike was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and uncle who adored his dogs,” they said.

“His family respectfully requests privacy during this time.”

Bodmin Rugby Club has been designated as a memorial site where people can congregate to remember the deceased.

Devon and Cornwall Police officers will be present to assist the local community.

The club has also paid tribute to Mr. Allen on Facebook, with members remembering him as a “significant member” of the team.

“It is with great sadness that we can now announce the passing of our player and friend Mike Allen (Chabel),” they said.

“Mike joined the club earlier in the season and soon became an integral member of our team. His wit and generosity have left an impression on us all, and we will miss him terribly.

Our thoughts are with Mike’s family during this tragic period.

Detective Inspector Ilona Rosson of the force’s serious crime investigation team stated, “Our investigation into this matter continues, and we continue to request the public’s assistance.”
