Four hospitalised after double-decker bus overturns in County Durham field.

Durham Police and Go North East are investigating the cause of the collision that occurred in Stanley, County Durham. Eleven individuals were treated on-site.

A double-decker bus overturned and collided in a field in County Durham, resulting in the transport of four individuals to a hospital.

The cause of the accident on Lowery Road in Stanley, near Craghead, just after midday is under investigation.

Durham Police stated that four people were taken to the University Hospital of North Durham as a precaution, but no one was gravely injured.

Recovery specialists tried to right the bus, closing the road.

North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) personnel were dispatched around 12.30 p.m. to assist officers. A spokesperson stated that eleven patients were treated at the scene.

The County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service joined them.

Transport provider Go North East affirmed that no serious injuries had occurred.

Business director Ben Maxfield stated, “We were made aware shortly after noon that one of our buses was embroiled in an incident outside of the village of Craghead.

Our management team rushed to the site and is collaborating with emergency services to determine the cause of the incident.

We are assisting everyone affected by the incident and will continue to provide updates.
