Two Britons missing in Donetsk, Ukraine, are identified.

Volunteers assisting with the evacuation of civilians and humanitarian work in the war-torn Donetsk region, the couple was last seen leaving Kramatorsk towards Soledar at 8 a.m. on Friday.

Two British citizens missing in Ukraine have been identified.

Volunteers assisting with civilian evacuation and humanitarian assistance in the war-torn Donetsk region, Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Parry, were reported missing by the local authorities.

The pair was last observed leaving Kramatorsk for the besieged city of Soledar at 8 a.m. on Friday, after which contact was lost.

They were reported missing at approximately 5.15 p.m. the next day.

Officers in Donetsk have stated that they are conducting operational and investigative efforts to determine their location.

An FCDO representative stated, “We are assisting the families of two missing British nationals in Ukraine.”

When Russia invaded on February 24, he was working as a running coach in Cheltenham, where he was originally from.

He evacuated civilians of the besieged city of Severodonetsk before it surrendered in June, and afterward operated east of Lyman.

The situation in Soledar where Ukrainian forces are attempting to withstand Russian attacks.

Soledar, a small salt-mining community, has been the site of intense combat as Russian forces launch attacks. Possibly to increase pressure on adjacent Bakhmut.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy lauded the Ukrainian soldiers that resisted the Kremlin’s invasion, stating that they bought Ukraine time to gain strength.

Monday evening he said, “And what did Russia hope to achieve there? Everything has been entirely devastated, and nearly no life remains.

“And hundreds of their people perished: the countryside surrounding Soledar is littered with the dead of the occupants and the scars of the blows. This is what lunacy looks like.”
