Airline delays due to Liverpool airport power outage

A passenger stated they were stranded on the tarmac for nearly three hours while Liverpool John Lennon Airport attempted to resolve a power disruption. Another passenger reported that a “full Ryanair flight” had been delayed at Dublin Airport since 1.30 pm1.30 pm.

A power failure at Liverpool John Lennon Airport halted all aircraft, resulting in potential delays, as passengers were advised.

Although engineers “have resolved the earlier Air Traffic Control power issue,” flight delays are still possible, according to the airport.

At this time, aircraft operations have resumed at the Liverpool airport.

“Delays are possible; for additional information, please contact your airline or refer to their website. We regret any inconvenience that may have been caused,” a statement read.

A passenger stated that they had been seated for hours on the aircraft awaiting takeoff.

They responded to the airport’s X announcement: “I am, in fact, still seated on an aircraft on the tarmac. It’s been almost three hours at this point.”

Another passenger said they hoped to board their flight as quickly as possible, as a “full Ryanair flight” had been stranded at Dublin Airport since 1.30 pm.

One passenger commented on Facebook as the airport declared the power outage impacting Air Traffic Control, stating that they had “been stranded on the plane in Szczecin airport for more than two hours” with “no updates” regarding the situation.
