On the night of the march, the cricket star said in a video message, “This is not for politics, personal gain, or to overthrow the government; it’s to bring genuine freedom to the country.
Mr. Khan’s successor, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has denounced the shooting and requested a quick investigation.
According to officials, a suspect was apprehended at the scene. According to local media sources, the shooter acted alone.
