Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis ended their nearly ten-year relationship in 2020, with the director of Don’t Worry Darling moving on to date former One Direction member Harry Styles.
Olivia Wilde has won the initial custody hearing for the two children she shares with her ex-boyfriend Jason Sudeikis.
According to documents viewed by Page Six, a judge rejected Sudeikis’ argument that his children reside in Brooklyn, New York, and decided that California is their home state.
She asserted that the actor had the option to have the documents delivered “discreetly” but opted to do it “in the most forceful manner conceivable.”
At CinemaCon in April, Wilde was served the documents while promoting her forthcoming movie Don’t Worry Darling, starring her current boyfriend Harry Styles.
The director appeared astonished when opening the huge brown envelope marked “personal and confidential” that was presented to her onstage and captured on film.
Wilde stated: “Jason’s actions were designed to frighten me and catch me off guard.
“He could have served me discretely, but instead he opted to be as forceful as possible.
The fact that Jason would humiliate me professionally and put our issue on display in this manner is incredibly detrimental to the best interests of our children.
Following the incident at CinemaCon, spokespeople for Sudeikis said the paperwork was linked to the couple’s children’s jurisdiction but stated the actor was unaware of how they would be presented.
In court documents, Sudeikis expressed regret that the event tarnished her special day.
Due to Sudeikis and Wilde’s demanding work schedules, the family has previously split their time between Los Angeles, New York, and London.
Wilde presently resides in Los Angeles with his two children, and according to court documents, he plans to “relocate with the children to London following the 2023 school year’s conclusion.”
Wilde and Sudeikis were together for almost ten years after meeting at a Saturday Night Live after party. They had formerly been engaged.
They are the parents of Otis Alexander, age eight, and Daisy Josephine, age five.
Wilde stated in December that she was “more content than ever” after beginning a romance with former One Direction member Harry Styles.
In September, her latest film, the psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling, starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, will be released.
Sudeikis just wrapped up filming in southwest London for the third season of the Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso, in which he portrays an inexperienced but lovable football coach. Numerous honors have been bestowed upon him for the portrayal, which has been deemed a critical triumph.
