On February 28, 66-year-old Myers passed away, less than two years after disclosing his cancer prognosis. Thursday, his wife, Liliana, praised him on Instagram as an “outstanding stepfather, devoted friend, and extraordinary spouse.”
The wife of Dave Myers, star of Hairy Bikers, praised her “extraordinary” spouse following his passing at the age of 66.
Myers passed away “peacefully at home” on February 28, according to an announcement by Si King, a co-star and fellow motorcycler chef, last week.
“By his side” were King, Myers’s wife “Lili” Liliana Myers, family members, and close associate David, according to a statement.
Myers disclosed his cancer prognosis for the first time in May 2022.
Thursday evening, in a dynamic tribute to her “wonderful Dave,” Mrs. Myers addressed the 354,000 followers of the Hairy Bikers Instagram account. Her post characterized him as an “outstanding spouse, a delightful stepfather, and a devoted friend.”
“In his own words, he was a creator, never a follower,” she stated.
Mrs. Myers wrote, “My husband, David Myers, was a larger-than-life individual who approached everything with zeal, zeal, and generosity.”
He possessed boundless vitality when biking and discussing bicycles or preparing and reciting recipes.
She added that her late husband was an “amazing storyteller” who constantly inspired and encouraged others to cook, travel, and live life to the utmost through his tales and television appearances.
She thanked fans for the “massive wave of love, compassion, and care” extended to her, King, and their families, stating that she felt as though she were “grieving with an entire nation… and this is something special.”
“I want all of you to know that I have read every one of your messages and comments… “Your Dave anecdotes and the emotions you shared with me mean a great deal to me; my heart is overflowing with appreciation and affection,” she composed.
“He moved countless hearts”
Mrs. Myers continued in her eulogy, “I am astounded by the number of individuals who wished to express their admiration for the efforts of Dave and Si over the past twenty years and the number of hearts he touched.”
Having shared your living rooms with the Hairy Bikers for an extended period, I am deeply saddened by your loss, just as you are by mine.
A photo of the couple, who met in Romania while Myers was filming Hairy Bikers, was included in the shared post.
More than 55,000 people have liked it to date, and in the comments, hundreds of individuals have expressed their condolences and paid homage to the beloved television personality.
King revealed in an Instagram post last week that his co-star’s “beloved wife,” Mrs. Myers, and stepchildren Iza and Sergiu, whom Dave cherished as his own, “brought him so much joy.”
“Exactly how I am feeling at the moment is beyond my ability to articulate,” King continued.
“My best companion is undertaking a journey I cannot follow.
“In addition to the bond and friendship we shared for fifty years, I will mourn him daily.
Brother, I wish you the speed of God; you have been and will continue to be a luminary until we meet again on the other side. “I adore you.”
In May 2022, Myers disclosed his cancer diagnosis on the Hairy Bikers – Agony Uncles podcast; however, the specific form of cancer remained undisclosed.
He disclosed that before undergoing chemotherapy, he was rendered immobile and incapable of operating his motorbike on account of his instability.
In addition, while competing on Strictly Come Dancing with dance partner Karen Hauer, Myers won over the audience.
“Love you, Lil,” Hauer wrote in his daily Instagram post. Dave cherished you tremendously. “Sending my deepest affections.”
