Yellow warnings for 85mph winds across the nation

  • Weather warnings issued
  • Delays expected nationwide
  • Power outages possible

Bus, train, and ferry services may experience delays, resulting in prolonged journeys, in regions impacted by the closure of roads and bridges.

Yellow weather warnings have been issued for torrential rain and severe gusts in the UK.

The alerts, issued by the Met Office for Wednesday, covered northern England, including Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Carlisle, Scotland, and portions of Northern Ireland.

Regional road and bridge closures may delay bus, train, and ferry services, prolonging journeys.

The weather service predicts some temporary power outages, with minimal probabilities of building damage and potentially hazardous airborne debris.

Tuesday night, precipitation is expected to extend into northwest Scotland, accompanied by stronger winds in the north.
