Heavy rain is anticipated with a chance of hail and thunderstorms across the UK.

Met Office stated that the outlook remains unpredictable due to the involvement of two successive tropical systems in the Atlantic Ocean.

Thursday is expected to bring widespread precipitation to the United Kingdom, with the wet conditions expected to persist.

Heavy rain, possibly accompanied by hail and thunderstorms, is anticipated to move northwards throughout the day from the capital and the east of England.

Until 10 a.m., the Met Office had issued a yellow warning for rain across eastern Scotland, spanning from Edinburgh to Aberdeen.

The heavy precipitation may cause some flooding and travel disruptions; those affected are advised to exercise caution when traveling.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued a yellow warning for Dundee and Angus, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Fife, Tayside, and the Scottish Borders.

Thursday could likely see isolated floods in eastern regions due to severe thundershowers, the agency’s website states.

The Met Office tweeted on Thursday morning, “Sunshine and showers during breakfast, with some heavy and thundery storms and hail in the mix.”

This evening, heavy precipitation is expected across northwest England, north Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The majority of showers are likely to dissipate, but some may linger around southern beaches, according to forecasters.

Met Office stated that the outlook remains unpredictable due to the involvement of two successive tropical systems in the Atlantic Ocean.

However, many regions of the country may anticipate calmer skies throughout the weekend.

Met Office chief forecaster Paul Gundersen stated, “The effect of low pressure will continue to dominate this week, particularly on Friday.

On Friday, eastern and northeastern England, as well as southern Scotland, may experience a period of very heavy precipitation.

“Low pressure will ultimately shift eastwards on Saturday, resulting in a dry and partly sunny day for many,” he added.
