China’s COVID regulations cause iPhone delays for Apple.

According to the business, “the factory is now working at a drastically reduced capacity,” and iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max shipments would be fewer than anticipated.

As a result of COVID restrictions imposed on a contractor’s plant in central China, Apple is notifying customers that the latest iPhone models may be delayed.

Foxconn’s facility in the city of Zhengzhou, located in central China, is “working at a drastically reduced capacity,” according to an announcement by the business.

Apple stated that it now anticipates lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than it had previously projected.

Following an increase in coronavirus illnesses in Zhengzhou and the departure of manufacturing employees, entry to the industrial zone where the factory is located was restricted for one week last week.

The shutdown is anticipated to cause more plant interruptions.

Due to the shutdown, Foxconn stated in a statement that it is lowering its outlook for this quarter downward.

Foxconn announced on Monday that it is now collaborating with the government to eradicate the pandemic and resume manufacturing at full capacity as soon as possible.

In addition, the provincial government has stated that it will “completely help” Foxconn in handling the plant’s pandemic prevention and operating situation, according to the report.

To mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission, the Zhengzhou plant’s WeChat account said on Sunday that a “closed loop” system would restrict employees’ movement between their dorms and the industrial area.

Apple stated, “We are working closely with our supplier to bring production levels to normal while guaranteeing the health and safety of every worker.
