According to the electric vehicle manufacturer based in Texas, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries, and it is believed the company will issue a wireless update to fix the problem.

Tesla is recalling over 300,000 vehicles in the United States due to possible issues with their backlights.

The electric car maker located in Texas stated that the recall concerns some 2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles.

It is expected that the company would offer a wireless update to address the issue, which causes the backlights to sporadically fail to illuminate.

Today, a file with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) was made public, which revealed the action.

A few days ago, the company recalled approximately 30,000 Model X vehicles due to a problem that might cause the front passenger airbag to deploy wrongly, increasing the risk of damage.

More than 40,000 Model S and Model X vehicles were recalled earlier this month owing to the potential loss of power steering assist when driving on bumpy roads or after hitting a pothole.

According to NHTSA data, Tesla has reported 19 recall efforts in the United States for approximately 3.7 million vehicles in 2022.

The most recent recalls are sure to increase the concerns of some Tesla investors regarding Elon Musk’s ability to focus on his duties as CEO of the world’s most valuable automaker now that he is running Twitter.

His brief leadership of the platform has been marked by scandal, including large layoffs and the departure of dissatisfied employees, leading to predictions that the website may break down during the World Cup.

Musk was asked about a succession plan during Tesla’s shareholder’s meeting in August, before the $44bn acquisition agreement, and responded, “I aim to continue with Tesla as long as I can be useful.”

He continued, “We do have a talented crew here.”

Therefore, I believe Tesla would continue to thrive even if I were abducted by aliens or returned to my planet.

James Murdoch, the director of Tesla, recently testified in court that Elon Musk had selected a prospective successor to lead the company, but did not name them.
