An individual, aged 19, has been apprehended on suspicion of attempted murder after the stabbing of another man aboard a train in the southern region of London.

The incident between the Beckenham Junction and Shortlands railway stations was observed on Wednesday.

Onlookers could be heard yelling at a man clad in a black hooded jacket, black trousers, and a face mask, who was seen brandishing a sizable blade, according to social media footage captured on board the train.

In response to complaints of two men fighting, British Transport Police (BTP), London Ambulance Service, and Metropolitan Police officers were dispatched to the scene.

BTP reported that the victim, who is in his twenties, was transported to the hospital, where he is in “critical but stable condition.”
