A man has been detained in Liverpool on suspicion of murdering nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel.

The schoolgirl was tragically shot by a shooter wearing a balaclava who chased a man into her home at 10 p.m. on Monday.

During last night’s armed police raid, the suspect from the Merseyside neighborhood of Huyton was also arrested on two counts of attempted murder.

He is being questioned in custody by Merseyside Police detectives.

Olivia Pratt-Korbel murder: man arrested in Liverpool.

It follows multiple public pleas for the killer of Olivia to come forward.

The schoolgirl was fatally shot by a masked gunman who pursued another guy into her Liverpool home at 10 p.m. on Monday.

As Olivia’s mother Cheryl Korbel attempted to close the door of the Kingsheath Avenue, Knotty Ash, residence, the assailant inserted his hand through the opening and fired fire.

Ms. Korbel was wounded in the wrist, and her daughter, who stood right behind her, was fatally struck in the chest by the same bullet.

The shooter then fired two more rounds at 35-year-old Joseph Nee before fleeing on foot.

Nee had just burst through the front door after Olivia’s mother had unlocked it after hearing a disturbance outside, where the gunman was chasing Nee and another man.

Nee, a convicted burglar who was wounded in the upper body during the incident, was transported to the hospital by accomplices in a black Audi Q3 and is in stable condition.

Nee will be returned to prison for allegedly violating the terms of his parole license.

After the gunshot, police officers took Olivia to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she later died.

Her mother’s gunshot wound was treated at Aintree Hospital when paramedics transported her there.

Merseyside Police stated that police had located and spoken with the two occupants of the Audi.

A second man who was with Nee at the time of the shooting was also interviewed, according to the police.

Former Liverpool FC and Everton players Ian Rush and Snodin added flower wreaths to a police cordon near Olivia’s residence on Friday morning.

On the flowers from Everton, a statement read: “R.I.P. Olivia. No words can diminish the agony or explain such a tragedy. Our city is united.

Rest in peace, Olivia, with our heartfelt condolences from everyone at Liverpool Football Club. “You’ll Never Walk Alone”
