A Met firearms officer has been accused of the murder of Chris Kaba, who was killed during a south London police operation.
Mr. Kaba, 24 years old, was slain on September 5, 2022, in Streatham Hill.
The officer was remanded in custody by Westminster Magistrates‘ Court before a Thursday afternoon appearance at the Old Bailey.
The firearms officer was only identified as NX121 after a court granted an anonymity order.
Mr. Kaba was killed by a single gunfire after his car was surrounded by an unmarked police vehicle and a police officer opened fire.
His parents and other family members sat in the public gallery as the Metropolitan Police officer appeared in the dock.
As prosecutor Tom Little KC described how the case would proceed, some members of the public gallery began to sob and exited the courtroom.
