Soldier accused of terrorist offences in the United Kingdom appears in court

A serving member of the British Army has appeared in court on charges of committing a bomb hoax at an RAF base and another terrorist offense.

Daniel Abed Khalife, of Beaconside, Stafford, was charged and remanded into custody on Friday.

Saturday’s proceedings were postponed at the request of the prosecutor because one of the charges against Pte Khalife, 21, requires the Attorney General’s approval.

Next Friday, he will return to Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

The alleged crimes allegedly occurred earlier this month and in August 2021.

On January 2, Pte Khalife is accused of perpetrating a bomb hoax at RAF Stafford. Where he resides and works after three canisters containing wires were left at the base.

He is also suspected of collecting military personnel information that might be utilised to conduct a terrorist strike.

Pte Khalife showed up in court wearing a grey sweater and blue jeans.
