The workers, some of whom make £10.66 per hour, voted decisively for strike action after rejecting a salary offer below inflation.

More than 100 employees are anticipated to participate in the action.

Mick Lynch, general secretary of the union, stated, “Eurostar security employees are fundamental to the operation of Eurostar, and it is a travesty that they are not being compensated enough.”

According to him, they work “long, antisocial hours,” and the facilities management company Mitie “can easily afford to compensate them fairly.”

“We do not want to interfere with people’s trip plans, but our members deserve a raise and this is the only way management will listen,” he explained.

As soon as possible, he urged Mitie and Eurostar to seek a resolution with RMT.

On the 16th of December, RMT members at Network Rail and 14 train operators planned walkouts.

On December 22 and 23, train and railway station cleaners are scheduled to strike.

Today, Royal Mail workers, university academics, and sixth-form college staff are on strike over pay, and the army is on standby in case it is required to fill positions during winter strikes by NHS workers.

On the 15th and 20th of December, nurses in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland will engage in strike action over pay and patient safety.

More than 300,000 members of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) participated in the largest strike ballot in the union’s 106-year history.

Thousands of 999 call handlers, ambulance technicians, paramedics, and their colleagues working for ambulance services in the North East, North West, London, Yorkshire, and the South West are also scheduled to go on strike the next month over wages and staffing levels.
