The police investigating the disappearance of a man in South London have discovered his remains in the trunk of a vehicle, they say.
On October 16, it was reported that 34-year-old Justin Henry had gone missing. The previous evening, he was last seen on CCTV at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Croydon.
On Tuesday, the police discovered a corpse inside a red Nissan Almera, one day after discovering the vehicle in Purley.
Despite the execution of a postmortem examination, an official determination of the cause of death remains elusive. Confirmation of the body’s identity is still pending.
Family Notified of Developments
Family members of Mr. Henry have been apprised of any developments.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb, of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, stated: “In order to safeguard forensic evidence, law enforcement personnel conducted a meticulous and systematic investigation of the location.

Tracing Mr. Henry’s Movements
Officers are attempting to trace the whereabouts of Mr. Henry from the wee hours of Monday, October 15th, Sunday.
Mr. Henry, who has ties to the SE23/Forest Hill region, was last seen in person on Sunday evening at the Brixton residence of his companion. CCTV footage documented him purchasing food at a McDonald’s drive-thru on London Road in Croydon at approximately 9:50 p.m.
Police suspect that Mr. Henry then proceeded to the adjacent Waddon New Road, where his silver Mercedes E Class was observed to have been parked for approximately two and a half hours.
Later, on October 16, the vehicle was discovered in Kingswood Drive, in the vicinity of Sydenham Hill.
An indistinct CCTV image of the driver renders it unknown who was operating the vehicle at Kingswood Drive just before 1:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16; however, Mr. Henry’s family asserts that it was not him.
Police forensically investigated Mr. Henry’s vehicle, Croydon address, closed-circuit video recordings, and phone calls.
Two individuals, both of whom are 29 years old, have been indicted in relation to the inquiry.
Additional Suspects and Inquiries
On October 18, a 27-year-old woman was additionally apprehended under suspicion of abduction. She has been bailed pending the outcome of additional inquiries through January 2024.
Detectives released images of “distinctive” jewelry that Mr. Henry had been donning earlier on Thursday.
According to his relatives, he wore a Rolex watch, three Cartier bracelets, and a diamond ring before disappearing.
“Our family is shattered,” said Helen, the mother of Mr. Henry, adding that she was “seeking assistance from anyone who can soothe our suffering.”
