A third man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the stabbing death of football player Cody Fisher in a Birmingham nightclub on Christmas Day.

Today around 3 a.m., the 22-year-old suspect was detained in London.

Mr. Fisher was stabbed to death on the dancefloor of the Crane nightclub in Digbeth at approximately midnight on December 26th, according to the West Midlands Police.

Detectives have also reported the recovery of a knife.

It is the third arrest on suspicion of the football player’s murder, and four others have been arrested on suspicion of aiding a criminal.

These four individuals were all arrested in London, two yesterday and two today.

On Christmas Eve, sometime before 11:45 p.m., Mr. Fisher was stabbed.

Half an hour later, despite efforts to resuscitate him, he was certified dead.

The police have petitioned the Birmingham City Council to reconsider the Crane’s license, and a hearing is scheduled for tomorrow. On New Year’s Eve, a previously scheduled event has been canceled.

Ian Ingram, the DCI in charge of the inquiry, stated: “We now have seven persons in custody and are continuing to piece together the events that led to this young man’s awful death.

People continue to provide information, but I am still interested in hearing from anyone who has not yet contacted us.

If you have a film that we have not yet seen, or if you know what may have occurred before the Boxing Day tragedy, I ask you to do the right thing and contact us immediately.

“We are determined to obtain answers and justice for Cody’s family and friends, and we will not let up until we do so.

“We are keeping them apprised of new information as it becomes available, and we will continue to support them throughout this terrible period.”
