- Michael Jackson’s jacket auction.
- Valuable music memorabilia for sale.
- Bidding expected to be competitive.
In November, a jacket that was once donned by the late musical star Michael Jackson is scheduled to be auctioned off in London.
The item, which was featured in a 1984 Pepsi advertisement, is being sold alongside over two hundred other items of music memorabilia.
The black-and-white leather jacket made for Jackson for the campaign costs £200,000 ($245,000) to £400,000.
It originated in the first of a series of soft drink advertisements featuring the superstar.
The advertisements are best known for Jackson’s hair catching fire and causing burns during a pyrotechnic malfunction during production.
However, on that particular occasion, he was donning an alternative overcoat.

Propstore will auction George Michael’s La Rocka jacket, which he wet during his 1987 duet with Aretha Franklin.
Additionally, a beehive hairpiece that Amy Winehouse wore in 2007 for the music video of You Know I’m No Good, which appeared on her most recent album Back To Black, is also up for auction.
In addition, memorabilia associated with The Beatles, David Bowie, and Elvis Presley will be auctioned off.
An Angus Young Gibson guitar and a John Lennon belt fastener are worth around £120,000 and £60,000, respectively.
Director of music and posters at Propstore, Mark Hochman, predicted that bidding would be “extremely competitive.”
“For many of these exclusive lots, it is the first time they have been offered for sale to the public,” according to him.
In the past, Michael Jackson memorabilia has been sold for thousands of dollars.
His black fedora hat from his 1983 moonwalk debut went for €77,640 (£67,088; $82,280) at a Paris auction last month.
