  • Farage to focus on US election, not run in UK
  • He’ll support Reform UK campaign, but not as a candidate
  • Farage steps down from GB News to canvass for Reform UK

The former UKIP Brexiteer has stated that he intends to focus on the US election rather than running in the UK election. However, he will continue to assist the Reform UK campaign.

Nigel Farage has declared that he will not be reentering British politics following the announcement of a general election.

The honorary president of Reform UK and former leader of UKIP stated that he had contemplated running for an MP in the general election scheduled for July 4, which was announced on Wednesday. However, he concluded that the timing could have been more suitable.

Mr. Farage stated that the November United States election “has huge global significance” and that, despite the importance of the general election, he has chosen to “help with the grassroots campaign” there. He believes a “strong America…is vital for our peace and security.”

Since 2016, he has assisted in Donald Trump’s campaign.

Richard Tice, the leader of Reform UK, stated that Mr. Farage will continue to assist with their election campaign, a decision that he is “absolutely thrilled” about. He also noted that the Reform co-founder will be “very busy” during the campaign.

Mr. Farage retweeted a social media post shortly after that, announcing that he would resign resign from his GB News program during the campaign to canvass for Reform UK

Mr. Farage, a Brexiteer, stated that the UK’s alternative between Labour and the Conservatives is “uninspiring” and that only Reform possesses the radical agenda necessary to reverse the country’s decline.

Mr. Farage, a former contestant on the reality television show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, expressed his “complete” backing for Reform UK leader Richard Tice and encouraged electors to “have faith in him and Lee Anderson,” the party’s sole MP.

He has been nominated for the position of Member of Parliament by seven different political parties; however, he has been defeated by substantial margins each time.

He was an MEP in Europe from 1999 to 2020, during which time he was a vocal critic of the EU and led the campaign for Brexit. He is now a TV personality.

In 2021, he resigned from his position as leader of Reform to concentrate on his vocation as a television presenter on GB News.

At the same time, he has been establishing a career in the United States by participating in the Trump campaign in 2016 and delivering speeches at his rallies.

In 2020, Mr. Farage was granted an exemption from the US travel prohibition during the COVID-19 pandemic on the grounds of “national interest” to assist Mr. Trump in preparing for his election rallies.

During the “America’s Comeback Tour” in 2021, he delivered speeches to Republican grassroots audiences nationwide.

Mr. Trump had previously requested that Mr. Farage be appointed the British ambassador to the United States, a request the UK government denied.

Mr. Tice insisted that Reform UK is “going to win seats” and “we’re going to surprise everybody” when he launched the party’s election campaign on Thursday.

He stated that the party has “approximately 500” candidates, with an additional “couple of hundred” candidates currently being nominated. He also committed to supporting 630 Reform UK candidates in England, Wales, and Scotland.
