Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s three sons killed in Gaza airstrike

  1. Israeli airstrike kills three sons of Hamas leader in Gaza
  2. Attack claims lives of Hamas operatives and grandchildren
  3. Conflict persists amid claims of Hamas military defeat by Israel

Two of his sons, according to the Israeli military, were Hamas operatives, and the third was a cell commander. Four of Hamas’ grandchildren, he added, perished in the attack.

The assassination of three sons of Hamas’s foremost political figure by an Israeli airstrike on prominent targets in Gaza has occurred.

Four of Ismail Haniyeh’s grandchildren, according to Hamas, were also slain in the strike.

Mohammed and Hazem, two of his sons, were Hamas military operatives, according to the Israeli military, while Amir, the third, was a cell commander.

Among the most prominent targets to have been eliminated thus far in the conflict are they.

International mediation is required to prevent the killings from undermining the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas.

Following the attack on his family, Haniyeh accused Israel of acting in “the spirit of vengeance and murder” and stated that Hamas would not yield to duress.

He stated that the adversary believes that by targeting the leaders’ families, they will be compelled to concede to the demands of our people.

It is naive to believe that by targeting my sons, Hamas will be compelled to alter its stance.

The instant he received the news while visiting wounded Palestinians at a hospital in Qatar, where he resides in exile, was captured on camera.

As he looks to the ground and nods, he pronounces, “God rest their souls.”

Haniyeh’s sons, according to Hamas, were murdered in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, her place of origin.

The death toll also included three of his granddaughters and one of his grandsons, although their ages were not specified.

Israeli War Cabinet Minister: Hamas vanquished

It follows the assertion by Israeli War Cabinet minister Benny Gantz that Hamas has been militarily defeated, although he added that Israel will continue to combat the group for years to come.

When examining the situation militarily, Hamas is vanquished. Mr Gantz stated that its combatants are “annihilated or in hiding” and that its capabilities are “crippled.”

However, he continued, “Confronting Hamas will require considerable effort. Middle school-aged boys will continue to engage in combat in the Gaza Strip.

Mr. Gantz reaffirmed the Israeli government’s determination to launch an invasion of the southern city of Rafah, from which over half of the 2.3 million inhabitants of the territory have fled, one day after Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, declared, “A date has been set for the attack.”

An empathetic Eid al-Fitr

The assault on Haniyeh’s children occurred as Palestinians observed the sorrowful Eid al-Fitr, a commemoration that follows the fasting month of Ramadan, by paying homage to their bereaved relatives who perished in the conflict.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry estimates that over 33,400 Palestinians have been slain in the fighting. While it does not distinguish between civilians and combatants, the ministry notes that the majority of the deceased are children and women.

The conflict broke out on October 7, when 1,200 people were killed in southern Israel during a cross-border rampage by Hamas.

Without substantiating its claims, Israel asserts that it has eliminated approximately 12,000 militants and lost over 600 soldiers.
