According to reports, Ly Hao Nam was hunting for scrap metal on New Year’s Eve. When he fell into a hollow concrete mound in the southern province of Dong Thap.

Since then, teams have fought to release him, injecting oxygen into the 35-meter-deep support column so he can breathe.

His cries for assistance were heard two days earlier. But he did not respond when a camera was put into the hole on Monday.

“We are making every effort. We cannot yet determine the boy’s condition. “One rescuer at the Mekong delta bridge building site told the AFP news agency.

The diameter of the shaft of the pillar is only 25 centimeters (10 inches), which has baffled officials.

Images from the incident depict the boy’s parents anxiously watching rescuers attempt to reach their son.

Cranes and excavators have been utilized by emergency crews in an attempt to move the mound. But so far without success.
