Monday evening, the man’s demise was reported at a Banbury residence, according to Thames Valley Police.

A lady has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 88-year-old man in an Oxfordshire assisted care facility, according to police.

Monday at 7:26 p.m., the elderly man was reported dead at his residence in School Lane, Banbury, according to Thames Valley Police.

The next day, a 53-year-old lady was taken into custody.

“In response to our preliminary inquiries, a 53-year-old Northamptonshire lady was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder. She is currently in police custody, according to a spokesperson for the force.

“We are not searching for anyone else about this inquiry, and our preliminary inquiries indicate that there is no threat to the broader community.”
