A man and a woman have been detained in connection with the Christmas Eve shooting death of a 26-year-old in a pub in Merseyside.
Elle Edwards, a beautician, died in the hospital after being shot in the head at the Wallesey Village Lighthouse.
A 30-year-old male has been arrested in Tranmere on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, according to the police.
They stated that a 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry was arrested on charges of a murder conspiracy.
Both suspects have been apprehended and will be interrogated by detectives.
Four other patrons of the bar were hurt; one of them, a 28-year-old male from Beechwood, Wirral, is still requiring treatment, according to police.
Flowers and other tributes, including a card written “mom and dad” and reading “To my darling Elle, you are the light of my life, you will never be gone,” have been left at the scene.
On a plaque in the shape of a heart with a pink and green flower pattern, the inscription “Special Daughter, the happiness you brought in your unique way will be remembered with affection every day
Merseyside Police think that Ellie Edwards, also known as Ms. Edwards, was not the intended victim of the attack.
Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs characterized her murder as “cold-blooded”
She stated on Monday evening, “Elle’s family is still coming to grips with her devastating death, and our professionally trained family liaison officers are assisting them.”
“We will not rest until those guilty are brought to justice.”
Earlier, Ms. Edwards’ coworkers at Nova Hair and Beauty Studio in Moreton, Wirral, declared that they were “utterly speechless.”
They posted on Instagram, “Heaven gained the most beautiful angel, we are all heartbroken and thinking of your family right now, Elle.”
On Christmas Eve, at approximately 23:50 GMT, multiple bullets were fired toward the Lighthouse’s entrance. The bar was crowded with predominantly young patrons.
Ms. Edwards was confirmed dead at Arrowe Park Hospital after being taken there.
When the shooting began, Jess, one of Ms. Edwards’s companions, stated that they initially thought they had heard fireworks.
She told, “Everything abruptly halted, and we had the impression that something was amiss.”
She felt “numb” as she saw her buddy on the floor, surrounded by people attempting to assist her.
The police are requesting additional information, particularly from anyone who was in the bar during the incident.
Det. Supt. Coombs stated, “We are also asking motorists and local people who may have captured something on Dashcam or CCTV to contact us, as every piece of evidence is essential to the investigation.
Merseyside Police stated before that they had increased their presence in the area following the incident.
It follows previous high-profile shootings on Merseyside in the past year, including the deaths of Olivia Pratt-Korbel, nine, and Knowsley Council employee Ashley Dale.
