Simon Thomas complimented the “amazing” NHS personnel who delivered his daughter eight weeks prematurely.
According to him, his wife Derrina became “rapidly unwell” and was rushed to the Stoke Mandeville hospital in Buckinghamshire, where she gave birth to their daughter on Tuesday.
The staff “held our hands physically and emotionally throughout an extremely fearful and stressful day,” he wrote on Instagram.
He stated that his family has “a long journey ahead, but she is in the best hands.”
In his message, he wrote: “Not everything in life happens exactly as planned.
“One moment we believe we have eight weeks before the birth of our child, and the next, after Derrina fell ill, we’re welcoming a little but incredibly adorable baby girl weighing just over three pounds.”
He complimented the hospital’s NHS neonatal team for being “absolutely fantastic” and for being there for them.
“I cannot convey how proud and fortunate I am right now; I have a lovely, courageous wife in Derrina, a precious son, and now a tiny, gorgeous daughter who will be Ethan’s sister.
The next three weeks in the hospital will be challenging, but we have the best staff surrounding us.
