Police in Hereford are searching for a man who is believed to have fallen into the River Wye. Three men have been detained on suspicion of murder.
Saturday at 00:05 BST, emergency personnel were dispatched to the vicinity of Victoria Bridge after a man’s companion reported that he had fallen down an embankment.
The individual, believed to be in his twenties, had not been located, according to detectives.
New information revealed that he had been involved in an altercation before the incident, which led to his arrest.
West Mercia Police Det Ch Insp Tony Garner stated, “Teams have continued to search the river today [Saturday] but have thus far been unable to locate the missing individual.
“Our investigations are still in the preliminary phases. Three guys were also arrested for homicide after new information suggested the missing man was in an altercation.
“They are currently in police custody as our investigation into the circumstances leading up to the time when the man is believed to have entered the river continues.”

The force added that a cordon remained in place along the river and inspections by officers with specialised training continued.
The family of the missing individual is being assisted by officers.
